On the 9th of September, 2015 at 10:00AM local time. Apple will be holding a conference to announce their new generation of iPhones, that is the iPhone 6S and iPhone 6S Plus. As always, the event will hold in San Francisco, USA. To our surprise, for the first time ever, this press conference will be made available via streaming for Windows users, unlike the way it has always been before - Only on Mac OS X and iOS.
Apple is even specific about the type of Windows OS and Browser that the press streaming will be available on and it's no other one than the latest Microsoft Windows 10 OS and the new Microsoft Edge Browser. This can be seen in the image below as it is on Apple's official website.
If you find it hard to read the text in the image above, this is what it says - "Requirements: Live streaming uses Apple’s HTTP Live Streaming (HLS)
technology. HLS requires an iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch with Safari on
iOS 7.0 or later, a Mac with Safari 6.0.5 or later on OS X v10.8.5 or
later, or a PC with Edge on Windows 10. Streaming via Apple TV requires a
second- or third-generation Apple TV with software 6.2 or later."
Even though the press conference is not yet available to every Windows users, it's still better than the way it was before, where only people with Apple devices and third-party streams can watch, now no more blurry display, bad sound and huge lag as the official stream will be available
to every Windows 10 users. Now, a question keeps triggering in my mind, why is this available to only Windows 10 + Edge browser owners ? Well, I personally think Apple likes the Windows 10 OS and most especially the powerful and efficient Microsoft Edge browser, at least, Windows 10 users now have something to be proud of.
If you are yet to upgrade your Windows OS to Windows 10, it's better you do it now to enjoy all the features and new improvements on Windows. What do you think about this post ? Is Apple indirectly vouching for the Edge Browser ? Are you excited to see the iPhones 6S and 6S Plus ? We'd love to hear from you !
