HTC has announced the Butterfly 3 smartphone, a Smartphone that will succeed last year's flagship, the HTC Butterfly 2. This phone is almost the same phone as the J Butterfly which has been official in Japan since May 2015. HTC Butterfly 3 comes with a 5.2-inch QHD LCD display, IP57 rating for dust and water protection,
Snapdragon 810 chipset, 3GB of RAM, Android 5.0 Lollipop with HTC Sense 7 on top. Internal storage is quoted at
32GB and could be expanded by up to 2TB via microSD - that is still not possible at the moment though, since there are no 2TB and even 1TB microSD cards yet.
The Butterfly 3 will be the perfect phone to shoot the most evergreen part of your life, with a brilliant 20.2MP rear camera (with a secondary sensor to capture distant information) and a 13MP selfie shooter, interestingly, this front camera can shoot videos up to 1080p. This results in what HTC calls a Duo setup, allowing for post-shot auto-focusing and a few other creative effects. The lens is a Sapphire
crystal-protected f/2.2 27.8mm-equivalent, and has a dual-tone dual-LED
flash to help in the dark and 4K video recording is supported.
The smartphone measures 150.99 x 72.99 x 9.99mm, according to HTC's spec sheet, but why not use our approximation skill in mathematics to get a more memorable dimension like 151 x
73 x 10mm? Yeah, that makes sense, also weighs 161g, while still packing a 2,700mAh battery.
We are looking forward to see the launch of this water and dust resistant phone in the company's own country, Taiwan, on the 20th of October 2015. With all the Specs and features, the Butterfly 3 is expected to be priced at TWD 19,900 and that's
roughly $600USD... A price that is not too much for a Flagship carrying all those Specs. By then, we'll be very sure of its global availability and the exact price tag accross the globe. I know all the HTC users out there are really interested in seeing this device, it's just a matter of time. Keep your fingers crossed till 20/10.
What do you think about this Smartphone? Will you like to rock it when it's out?
