Freedom 251 - Meet The $4 Smartphone that runs on Android Lollipop

Very soon, the world will be connected and everybody will have a feel of what it's like to use a Smartphone. Why? Simply because of the amazing things we keep seeing in the Tech Sphere recently. What could be more amazing than seeing a Smartphone with a price-tag of just $4? Yeah, you heard me right, $4, which is just N1200 in naira with the present dollar exchange rate. Presently, this Smartphone has been tagged, the most affordable Smartphone in the world and it's all happening in India by Ringing Bells.

The Android-powered device, named Freedom 251 carries a price tag of INR 251, which translates into just $4 or N1200 at current exchange rates.  Which means that for just $4, you get a handset that is powered by a 1.3GHz quad-core processor, and sports a 4-inch qHD IPS display, featuring 1GB RAM and 8GB internal memory, which can be expanded up to 32GB via microSD card.

In terms of camera, the Freedom 251 features a 3.2MP rear unit and a 0.3MP front shooter. Interestingly, the phone runs Android 5.1 (Lollipop), and packs in a 1,450mAh battery. As usual, it has 3G, WiFi 802.11 b/g/n, Bluetooth, and GPS. Also, Freedom 251 comes with some pre-installed Apps such as Google Play, Whats App, Facebook, Women Safety, Medical etc which shows how India-targeted the phone is. With the specifications of the phone as highlighted above, there is no doubt that it's way cheaper & cheaper than its other counterparts with the same Specs and features in the Smartphone market but here is what Ringing Bells has got to say about it -

There is no doubt that this is a very nice move from Ringing Bells and the Prime Minister of India. I'd be glad to lay my hands on the Smartphone very soon, to make a better personal review of it.
