With the continuous introduction of new technologies and developments in the Mobile Tech world, there is no doubt very soon our devices will be running out of storage space and will definitely need more storage, no wonder we keep seeing the release of large capacity microSDs like 128GB, 256GB. But this time around, the external storage just got bigger with the introduction of the new SanDisk Ultra 400GB microSDXC Card from Western Digital.
Western Digital just introduced its first SanDisk Ultra microSDXC UHS-I card
with 400 GB capacity. Interestingly, not only that, the company also introduced the SanDisk iXpand
Base for iPhones which enables Apple users to automatically back up files
and photos on the charger/portable hard drive. A good news for the Apple users in the house.
The new SanDisk microSD card allows double the storage since the
manufacturer managed to leverage its proprietary memory technology,
design and production processes. According to Western Digital, over 150 billion apps are expected to be installed
at the end of 2017, which many users would store on the expandable memory of their
devices. With the new microSD, users will be able to transfer files with
100 MB/s speed which WD calculates as 1,200 photos per minute or
topping up the whole microSD with 40 hours of Full HD movies. This microSD card includes 10-year warranty and is available at
SanDisk’s website and UK major retailers at the tempting price of
£224.99.
Since iPhones do not have microSD slot, SanDisk has a solution named
iXpand Base that is a portable hard drive that acts as a charging pad.
It has a rubberized surface and a Lighting cable to put the phone down
while the battery fills up with up to 15W charging. Meanwhile, all the
files are automatically backed up in the device. The iXpand base can store up to 256 GB and the prices start from $49.99 and go as high as $199.99 on SanDisk’s online store.
What do you think about this 400GB SanDisk microSD Card? Any chances you are going to buy it soon? As for me, I'm still okay with my 128GB microSD card. 😊 Don't forget to use the comment box below to drop your thoughts and kindly share this post with others using the share buttons. Cheers..!
